Tips to Organising Your Days at Disney
One of the most daunting things about holidaying in Florida is trying to make your time stretch to fit in all the activites that you want to do. The best way to make the most of your time is to try and organise your?days.
You don’t have to go overboard on this – certainly, planning every last minute is just going to create more problems than it solves!?However, here’s a few tips to help you get that planning balance right and to help you organise you days to? make the most of them!
1. Always check park hours. This way, you can plan to start in the park which opens earliest and spend the morning there. Similarly, always head to the park which?is open latest in the evenings. This will give you extra time in the parks to get round all the attractions, and will lengthen the amount of hours you can spend in the parks each day. If you’re luck enough to be staying at a Disney Resort, use your Extra Magic Hours to extend the park hours also – you’re being given up to 4 extra hours in the parks each day, so make the most of it to get shorter queues on popular rides, for example
2. Don’t head to a theme park which you know is going to be packed. Magic Kingdom’s busiest day, for example, is a Saturday, so if you can, try going to one of the other parks that day. There is no point in following the masses if it means longer queues, and ultimately less time available to enjoy yourself. Pick a quieter park and you’ll get to see much more of it in the same time span. In the same concept, if one of the theme parks is having a special event that you aren’t really interested in seeing, stay away from there at the allotted times – you’ll see more in a less busy park and can come back when the event is over, and the theme park will be much quieter!
3. Hit more than one park in one day. We all get tired and this will hamper your enjoyment and fun, and there is no law that says you have to spend the entire day in the one place. The best way to manage you days is in blocks of time – spend the morning at one park, do some shopping or relaxing around lunch and early afternoon, and head back into the parks in the afternoon/evenings. It’ll keep your energy levels up, keep you?feeling fresh?and will allow you to fit a lot more into one day
4. Book restaurants in accordance with park hours. We all hate having to miss our time playing because dinner’s ready, and the best way to make sure you miss nothing is to book restaurants around park hours. If the last parks closes at 8pm, for example, try and book dinner for 8.30pm, that way you wont miss any of the park action. If you’re lucky enough to find the parks are all open late, try not to eat at main meal times, when restaurants are busiest and it takes longer to be served. For example, have brunch around 11am ?and book you dinner for 4pm and you’ll miss these rushes all together!
5. If you’re given time savers, use them! Fastpass for example, is key to managing lengthy queue times, so if it’s available use it. This gives you the opportunity to try another ride or do some shopping instead of standing in a long queue, and then you can come back at your allotted time and? join a much shorter queue to get onto the ride. This service really is invaluable, so be sure to make use of it!
6. Don’t rush for the exit at park closing. Generally the transport is provided for a couple of hours after park closing, and there is no point in standing in a tram or monorail queue for a half hour. Take your time leaving the park – maybe stop by the souvenir shops, which will still be open and have a look about, or take a couple of photos/photos'>photo opportunities. If you can stretch your walk to the park gates to around half an hour after park close, you’ll probably join a much shorter queue than if you had rushed out. You’ll have gotten more done in the parks and definitley won’t be feeling as stressed as you would have by standing in a queue for all that time!
